Highveld Environmental Control Services (HECS) were consulted by Aqua Filtered Air in 2024 to conduct an assessment to ​ determine how effective the Aqua Filtered Air Unit (AFAU) is in removing dust particles at Harmony Gold – Tshepong Underground Gold Mining Operations at their waste and reef tipping areas.

The Total Inhalable TWA dust results indicate a significant reduction between the inlet and outlet of the air filtering unit, when there is large amount of dust present in the inlet side. The results also indicate, when there is a small amount of dust generated between the inlet and outlet of the filter unit, the reduction percentage is low.​
